Does your child have the theatre bug? This full-day workshop for middle schoolers is the perfect opportunity to let your child explore his or her creative side! Using Anne Bogart's Viewpoints technique, we'll spend the morning learning about the building blocks of performance, from rhythm and movement to story and emotion. In the afternoon, the kids will put together everything they've learned and create their own original performance. We believe that when kids feel confident expressing their creativity, this positively impacts many aspects of their lives. We want to help kids think of themselves not just as performers, but as artists.
The class will be taught by Jackie Vitale. Jackie has a masters degree in contemporary theatre practice from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and a BA in directing from Swarthmore College. Her professional work has been seen around London and the UK, as well as the northeastern United States. Her performance work is immersive, interactive, and usually involves people eating food.
